Shu came highly recommended in various local restaurant guides as one of the best eateries to be had in Belfast. It is also the recipient of many accolades and awards, so we thought we would give it a try. It was all OK. The ambience was OK, the service was OK, the food was OK. I can’t say that it was either very good or very bad – pretty much middle of the road. The menu was pretty much as you would expect for this kind of establishment, with prices to match – so no surprises there. I suppose that what I am trying to say is that there was no WOW factor involved – nothing stood out for me. Would I return? I doubt it, when there are so many other excellent, similarly priced restaurants in Belfast that do deliver the WOW factor

they made a great job of this restaurant. Much much better than the old Queens Inn. Lovely food and a great atmosphere.
